William Byers -- Artist                        

       Mr. Byers is a painter, printmaker and art educator. His work has been exhibited at the Art Extended Group in Detroit, the Oakland Center at Oakland University, and numerous galleries.  
       Byers studied at Bellas Artes in San Miquel De Allende,  Mexico, and did undergraduate work at the Universitare De Mexico in Mexico City where he studied with Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siquieros.
      He earned his Masters Degree in Fine Arts at Wayne State University, and studied under Charlie White in Los Angeles. His career has included teaching art  in Los Angeles at the high school and college level. 
       Mr. Byers works are in many private collections, and his Civil Rights Series is on permanent display at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan.
