.       Welcome to the Byers Gallery. The historic Civil Rights Series, painted by William Byers during the 1960's, is intended to show the artist's immense respect and admiration for the people who actually endured the hardships of the movement.
The Jazz Series and Count Basie Series honor black jazz musicians. The Evolution of Blues and Jazz and Collages are historic and social commentaries. The paintings of People are snapshots of the African-American experience.
.        We hope that in this site you witness the heroic actions of the Civil Rights movement, hear and see the sounds of the uniquely American music, Jazz, and share experiences of African-Americans.
While you're here, stop in at Stephanie's store and order some Afro-American note cards and prints of the Jazz paintings. We're glad you came by.

             Ciao,
                       Bill and Stephanie Byers
